Nathan, Ethan, Kevin & I are so deeply saddened and incredibly sorry that this has happened. Zeke was a really wonderful young man with an awesome personality and sense of humor. I ask the universe to provide strength to the family to meet the demands of each passing day, energy to sustain through this tragedy, and for clarity through the emotional fog that has no doubt taken hold. I ask for grace and love for the twins, calm and comfort for Heath & Jessica and for compassion and relief for Zeke. I ask intently that this family always be able to feel the love & connection that they all shared with Zeke and that they feel comforted and attached when they have quiet conversations with him. Life can be so very hard. I ask that we all move forward with a genuine appreciation for the relationships we form, that we love, listen, stay a while longer, go out of our way for friendship sake and that we always share a shoulder in times of struggle. What a precious gift I consider it to have had the opportunity to have Zeke in our lives, as brief as it was. He was a great friend to our son in a time of natural awkward teenage development and I genuinely appreciate him being a support person for Nathan, even if neither of them knew those roles. We never think about the fact that when we meet someone, they may leave us soon. I will take every opportunity moving forward to make sure those people that come into my life with purpose, know that they are valued and important. I will be awkward and say "you have made a difference in my life." I will hug them and love them. I will encourage them in their difficult days and celebrate them in their triumphs. A gift of understanding from this tragic experience. Zeke, I believe with everything in me that we aren't meant to suffer and that in our very human states, we aren't designed to hurt. I believe that your young spirit is soaring through fields of joy, laughter, memories and experience and that you can feel every pleasure of this life in every moment and movement for all eternity. This world will miss your presence for sure but I trust that all pain and worry, sadness or misunderstanding is no longer a part of your being. That comforts us in your absence.
