To the family of George Fausnaught I served with George "Fuzzy" in VXE-6 supporting operations in Antarctica. I considerate it a privilege to have served with him. His work ethic, coupled with his everpresent optimism and cheerful demeanor, helped mitigate the harsh working conditions and sense of isolation. To Fuzzy, Fair Winds Ann Following Seas, Shipmate, as you make you final journey West.

I'd like to send my deepest condolences to the family of Chief Foznaught. I served aboard the USS Guadalcanal LPH7. Chief Foz was quite the character. He always had a good joke and a big smile. As a single sailor I was invited into his home for a Christmas meal, a good time was had by all! George was always telling stories about Antarctica. I learned a lot about leadership and and dedication from him. I had only recently got in contact with George through a website for Guadalcanal vets. It was so good to correspond with him, he was so proud oh his son and family! Fair Winds and Following Sea 's Senior Chief Foz!
