Book of Memories for Jeff Wayne Henry

I have too many great stories about Jeff to share them all, I'd like to share a few. In '89, we flew to Dallas to see the Cowboys play the Redskins at Texas Stadium. The Cowboys lost 27-7 in what was Troy Aikman's 2nd game as a pro. It should have been a downer for Cowboys fans, but Jeff made the whole trip fun despite the loss. I also have many fond memories of sitting on the old Freeman's Grocery parking lot in Marmaduke listening to static-filled AM broadcasts of Spurs games, cheering for our team and calling into the post-game show from the nearby payphone to talk to then asst coach Popovich. Not to mention numerous nights at the Green House partying with the old Marmaduke gang (you know who you all are). Jeff was a warm, friendly, funny, happy person and I feel that my life was greatly enriched for having known him.

So many stories to share. Ranging from fantasy football, pool hall, card shop, poker, to just hanging out. He was a great guy, friend to us young teenagers who hung out with the young adults. This one time he & Donna invited a bunch of people to watch a Tyson fight, 29 seconds later it was over. Between him and his friends they got me interested in the Spurs and the Cowboys. It was a pleasure knowing you and I'll be seeing you again my friend.

Jeff was a great friend of David Fultz and I. His humor was witty and off the wall. I have never known him to have one bad word to say about anyone. Me and Dave farmed with Jeff when we were boys. Thats how we became friends. i have so many memories of Jeff, me and Dave spending time together in Marmaduke. As grown men we shared posts on Facebook and by phone. I was making plans to come hiking with Jeff as soon as i got well from my heart surgery. So here I am now writing on this page about him being gone. It's like a weird thing to talk about a friend who is now gone but not forgotten.My life now as a Christian I have to believe I will see Jeff again. I can speak for my bro Dave Fultz when I say that Jeff was a huge part of our lives. He was not only our friend but our brother.

I have many fond memories of stopping to chat with Jeff and his dad as they sat on their front porch. Never without a smile and a few minutes to talk, Jeff was a fun-loving, kind-hearted classmate and friend. I will always remember him as a sweet boy from the class of 1984.

Jeff will forever be a part of our lives. He was quite the character in school. He always had a smile on his face and would have given you the shirt off his back. I had the opportunity last year to share with his daughter Summer a lot of the stories about Jeff in school, and I'm so glad we had that chance. Never a day passed that you would pass Jeff on the highway in that convertible (always had the top down no matter the weather), but he would always smile and wave! I would alway tease with Jeff and ask him if he had a kitchen in his house, we would seem to run into him quite often out eating at his favorite places - Hooters, Logan's - Wild Wings - and the drive in over on Midland. He will truly be missed by all his classmates and all those who knew him well. We'll meet again someday Jeff!

I'd like to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to all of Jeff's family and loved ones. He was a very treasured friend to me and I have many great memories of him, including 2 trips to Mulberry to meet family and friends there. I will never watch a Cowboys or Spurs game without thinking of him and all the great times we had cheering them on. All your friends from Marmaduke will miss you. Rest in peace, my friend. Gone too soon...
