Dear Helen and family. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family after this great loss. He will have a new body free from all pain and sickness.It was so great we got to see you both and Lesa a few weeks ago. That trip had to be ordered by the Lord. Jerry was a great person and friend. We will miss him very much. Always enjoyed our Chats on the phone.May the Lord give you a peace just knowing it is goodnight for a while and it will be good Morning soon. With our love and prayers. Jerry and Helen were a very big part of our young lives. They were our neighbors for many years, and we became such good friends. I remember one time when my husband was injured and had to be off work for six months. things were very hard for us at that time, but those dear people were always having us over for dinner, and even slipping us a few dollars, and I know that was hard on them, as they had three children to feed and clothe, but it didn't stop them. Jerry was a true friend. He was the one that got my husband a job at Chase Bros. Dairy that lasted twenty years. We shared so many fun times with that family. The memories are many. I am sure that my husband Alton and Jerry are singing some of those good old gospel songs as they are praising our savior.

I have so many memories it is hard to even know where to start. My dad was a "milk man" by the time I came along. I was the youngest of the 4 kids and the only girl. One of my favorite memories of my dad was during this time when we lived in Ventura, California. He worked for Chase Brothers Dairy then. He got up very early to start a home delivery milk route. By the time noon time came around he would come by the house to eat lunch. He often had a BLT sandwich and tomato soup. He would have his lunch and while eating we would watch "Lets Make a Deal" and "Days of Our Lives". After lunch would be nap time. Mine and His. We would nap together and I remember that being such a special time. I would snuggle up next to him and be smelling his "Double Mint" gum (he always used to chew it). Daddy often worked two jobs so this was always a treat for me to get to spend that time with him just me and him even if it was napping. After we moved to Arkansas my dad and my mom spent countless trips hauling me and girlfriends to ball practice, ball games and as I entered the teen years to disco dances. It was big then and any body that knows my family knows we were always into music and like every teen girl I was too and Disco was the thing so don't judge me, lol. Anyway, I bet me and my girlfriends sprayed a fog of perfume in his car every weekend until I turned 16 and could drive! He didn't seem to mind too much, it kept it smelling as good on the inside as it was shiny on the outside. One of his passions was his cars- some fish, hunt, collect and such, but dad's hobby and passion was nice cars. My dad was a hard worker all of his life. Growing up on a farm kind of poor he told some funny stories about being poor. He always seemed to make the best of everything. My dad loved people. He loved his family, his many friends from every walk of life. He had a strong faith life and loved his church family in California and in Arkansas. He was fun and funny. He loved to pester and pull one over, aggravate and argue with a special few (Stanley Orr, Clydene Sharp, Bill Evans and a few others. He was one of a kind and will be missed by so many. He was always there for me and all of his family through all of life's many challenges. He handled many critical moments with strength and grace all the way up to the end. I always admired him for it. He may have been setting me straight or just there to offer the right words of encouragement but he always knew the right answer. I was so fortunate to get to spend his last days with him and to tell him how proud and blessed I was to have him for a daddy. I was able to tell him how much I loved him and what a great man he was and what a great life it was with him as my dad. Im sure there will be some things I wish I would have said but I will continue to talk to him and tell him as he watches over us with our Heavenly Father, waiting for us. It won't be the same and there will be a void in many of our family members that will never be filled... but Thanks be to God we will be together again for Eternity. I loved him dearly and I was blessed to have him for my Daddy. Lisa

Dear Sharp family,

We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Jerry. He was an amazing man. I have so many wonderful memeories of all you guys growing up. I can still remember Jerry, Helen, and my parents playing aggrevation till Jerry had to go deliver milk at wee hours in the morning. I remember going over to your house in Ventura and drinking chocolate milk with Lisa. We would sit in that dark bar room with the disco lights on talking for hours. Vegas was a word that you never mentioned to Jerry, Helen, or my parents. (unless you were ready to go there) haha. I remember my parents pacing the floor waiting for their beloved friends to arrive to visit them from Arkansaw. Jerry, driving at God knows what speed, while poor little Helen would keep a watchful eye with the binoculars. ;-) I remember so much fun, love, and good times with them. We felt so blessed to have been able to see Jerry, Helen, Lisa, and London recently went they came out for a quick visit to California. Our heart and prayers are with you all.

What can I say, he was not only a cousin but a Best Buddy, we loved him so much and spent many a hour with him & Helen. This is a void in our family that will never be filled. We have so many good memories, some were sad but most were good and we had great times together. Helen, Lisa, Mick, Jerry and family we love all of you, and you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
