Obituary for J.C. Calvert

J.C. Calvert, 81, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in a local hospital. He was born on February 1, 1937 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Dale and Katherine (Hienrich) Calvert. He was the owner and operator of C & J Forms and Labels. J.C. was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, held many titles while serving on the Old Fort Rodeo Days Board, contributed 50 years of service to the Arkansas Oklahoma Regional Education and Promotion Association and also served on the Fort Smith Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. J.C. was an avid lover of the outdoors, deep sea fishing, aviation, football and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Calvert and a brother, Bill Calvert.
He is survived by his daughter, Kitty Calvert of Fort Smith, AR; a son, Dale Calvert and his wife Amanda of Muldrow, OK; three grandchildren, James and Tyler Calvert both of Barling, AR and Kade Scott of Muldrow, OK; a nephew, Bob Calvert of Greenwood, AR and a niece, Lynn Calvert of Greenwood, AR; a sister-in-law, Carla Calvert and his caregiver and beloved friend, Sue Scott.
Funeral service is 10AM, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James and Tyler Calvert, Kade Scott, James and Bing Priest and Danny Robins. Reverend Bud Reeves will conduct the funeral service.
The family will visit with friends from 2-4 on Sunday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
