Obituary for Loy Dell Bowman (Blake)

Loy Dell  Bowman (Blake)
Loy Dell Bowman, 83, of Fort Smith, AR went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 30, 2018 in a local nursing home. She was born on October 15, 1934 in Nocona, TX to John and Rose Zetta (Hatfield) Blake. Loy was a homemaker and loved to cook for her family. Loy was a devoted wife, a kind hearted mother and loving Nanny. She enjoyed her ministry at the nursing home and at Vacation Bible School she was known as the “cookie lady”. She was a member of the Dallas Street Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers and a granddaughter, Jennifer Swilley.
She is survived by her husband of 67 ½ years, Loren Bowman; three daughters, Marsha Dobbs and her husband Otis of Fort Smith, Janice Swilley and her late husband James of Marshall, TX and Darla Vaughn and her husband Jerry of Pocola, OK; one son, David Bowman and his wife Tammie of Fort Smith; her twin sister, Floy Godbey of Sherman, TX; eleven grandchildren, Chris Dobbs, Ted Dobbs and his wife Heather, Shane Swilley and his wife Paula, Shannon Swilley and his wife Stacie, Cindy Garcia, Ashley Mears and her husband Charlie, Chuck Vaughn and his wife Leslie, Kristina Gordon and her husband Jared, Steven Vaughn and his wife Brittany and Julie Marshell and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The Family will visit with friends starting one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris and Ted Dobbs, Shane and Shannon Swilley, Chuck and Steven Vaughn.
Memorials may be made to Peachtree Hospice 1001 Towson Ave. Fort Smith, AR 72901.
