Neyron D. “N.D.” Edwards, 95 of Alma passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 in his home.
He practiced law in Van Buren from 1951 until his retirement in 1987. He served two terms as Prosecuting Attorney for the 15th Judicial District Court which included Crawford, Franklin and Logan Counties. He also owned and operated Edwards Abstract Company until his retirement. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII, flying 56th Combat Missions as a B17 Bomber Pilot with the 15th Air Force stationed in Italy. During his combat service, He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Metal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, The European Theater Ribbon and his Group was awarded the Presidential Citation. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ray Edwards; both parents, Duran and Laura Sue (Nelson) Edwards; one brother, R.L. Edwards, who was killed in action in WWII; one grandson, Michael Scott Edwards.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren with burial of cremains at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of seventy five years, Anna Mae (Farmer) Edwards of the home; one daughter, Carol Ann Edwards of Alma; three grandchildren, James Edward Martin of Alma, Melissa Renee Ruby of Broken Arrow, Miranda Sue Goins of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; three great- grandchildren.
