Ray David Slack, Jr., 75, of Fort Smith, AR went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 21, 2018 in a local hospital. He was born November 18, 1942 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Ray D. and Mary Slack, Sr. David was a retired CPA and Vice President at Arkansas Best Corporation, a 1965 graduate of the of the University of Arkansas with a BSBA in Accounting and completed his CPA in March of 1966. He was a member of Rye Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane; a sister-in-law, Sharon Reed of Fort Smith, AR; three nieces, Jane Reed of Van Buren, AR, Elizabeth Ferguson and her husband Danny of Mountain Home, AR and Jamie Golab and her husband Mark of Fayetteville, AR; two nephews, John E. Reed and his wife Georgeanne of Van Buren, AR and John Paul Reed of and his wife Cindy of Fort Smith, AR; seven great nieces and nephews, Sarah Ladd of Van Buren, AR, Rebecca Brooks of Lavaca, AR, Caleb and Caitlyn Ferguson of Mountain Home, AR, Allie Reed of Fort Smith, AR and Jackson and Camden Golab of Fayetteville, AR; four cousins, Randy Garrett of Little Rock, AR, Nancy Meadows of FL, Gary Brooks of Norman, OK and Cindy Garrett of Little Rock, AR.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday March 26, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith with Reverend Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
The Family will visit with friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR.
