Dennis Ray Burris, 95, of Fort Smith, AR went to be with the Lord Saturday January 6, 2018 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired store manager for Radio Shack, a U.S. Army veteran during the Occupation of Japan, a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith and the Builders Sunday School Class. Ray was born May 3, 1922 in Scranton, AR to Dennis Lee and Bertha (Weatherton) Burris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Jean Burris, his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Ray is survived by one daughter, Peggy Primm of Magnolia, AR; one son, Danny Burris and his wife Patsy of Spiro, OK; one sister, Neva Spicer of Subiaco, AR; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Wednesday January 10, 2018 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Fort Smith with burial at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at Ware’s Chapel Cemetery in Scranton, AR under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, AR.
Pallbearers will be Todd Burris, Alex and Evan Linker, Lance, Kyle and Tyler Primm. Honorary pallbearers will be Denise Jetton, Kathleen Tumey, Robert Burris and Breck Burris.
The Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home 4500 Jenny Lind Road Fort Smith, AR.
