Howard R. Borchert, 90 of Fort Smith passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 in a local hospital. He was a U.S. Army Veteran in WWII and Korea and a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fort Smith. He was a line foreman at Riceland Electric Coop in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Helena (Hahn) Borchert, and one son James Howard Borchert.

He is survived by his wife Sallye Marie Borchert of the home; two sons Fred Borchert and his wife Cindy of Fort Smith and Kermit Borchert and his wife Cindy of Vernon, Illinois; one brother Max Borchert of Stuttgart; five grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Zack and his wife Shannan, Bethany and Brad; one great grandson Gavin.

Arrangements and cremations were under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. There is no formal service at this time.
