Arlaween Newton, 85 of Alma passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in her home. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Don Newton Farms and Produce in Alma.She was a devoted and committed wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Her greatest pride and joy was being active with and surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Newton; both parents; one brother.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Mitchell and husband, Dr. Mike Mitchell of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Sheryl Medlock and husband, Brent of Alma; One sister, Ruth Montgomery of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Michaela Files and husband, Jake of Fort Smith, Nicholas Mitchell of Fort Smith, D.J. Medlock of Alma and Zachary Mitchell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Isabella and Mitchell Files, Ansleigh Medlock.

The family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Ocker Funeral Home 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Mitchell, Zachary Mitchell, D.J. Medlock, Jake Files, Todd Montgomery and Rickey Parks.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Crabtree, William Crabtree, Henry Crabtree, David Crawford, Larry Crawford, Bobby Phillips and Olin “Smitty” Smith, Jr.
