Obituary for Anita Lynn Peters (Plank)

Anita Lynn Peters (Plank)
Anita Lynn Peters, 61 of Rudy went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 1, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born in Fort Smith, December 31, 1955 to Clarence R and Phyllis A. Plank. She was a faithful member of Rudy Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Anita had a smile that would light up the darkest room, a loving spirit and a generous heart. She was also an extremely talented and can-do person, a fierce defender of her loved ones and her faith. She loved her church family beyond measure, if Anita loved you, you knew it! And if she didn’t well, that didn’t happen, she loved everyone. Her husband was told seven year earlier that she had “hours, possibly a day or two left on this earth. But her faith in the Lord and her fighting will to live proved them wrong. After battling COPD for seven years, Anita said that she was tired and read to go home. She wanted to thank the staff at Select Specialty Hospital, and at Peachtree Hospice for the Gentle Loving Care she received. She endured immeasurable discomfort and sadness in her final years, but the smile never failed. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Jacque Plank, her brother William R. (Dickie) Plank and her son James F. Peters, Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband James Peters, Sr. of the home; two daughters Holly Weatherford of Rudy and Jennifer Gray of Roland, OK; her brother Clarence E. Plank; six grandchildren and her “baby” Rascal.
