Obituary for Wanda Rae Dailey (Rentz)

Wanda Rae  Dailey (Rentz)
Wanda Rae Dailey, 89, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 in her home. She was born on February 9, 1928 in Cecil, Arkansas to Roy and Elsie (Russell) Rentz. Wanda graduated from high school at 16 and enrolled in the College of the Ozarks. She left after a year and moved to Fort Smith where she met and fell in love with Milton, they married and together both finished their degrees. Wanda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling at the University of Arkansas. She was a retired Fort Smith Public School teacher and had formerly taught in Hackett, Arkansas. She was a member of Who’s Who in American Teachers and a long standing member of Central Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband F. Milton Dailey and a brother, Billy Rentz.

Funeral services are 11:00AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Monday evening at the funeral home.

She is survived by her three daughters, Elaine Moody and her husband Monroe of Charleston, AR, Angela Dailey Thayer of Pocola, OK and Susan Johnson and her husband Bruce of Pocola, OK; six grandchildren, Kellie Plotts, Brandie Watkins, Jason and Alissa Thayer, Bobby Joe Johnson and Layla Brewer and four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madilyn and Austin Plotts and Adam Miles.

Pallbearers are Jason and Alissa Thayer, Bobby Joe Johnson, Austin and Roy Plotts and Monroe Moody.
