Bill Underwood, 82, of Fort Smith died Saturday, January 31, 2009 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired director of the meat program for Griffin Grocery and a car salesman for Smith Chevrolet in Fort Smith. Bill was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Fort Smith and a United States Navy veteran of World War II.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Forest Park Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Madge Underwood; two daughters, Kaye Jones and her husband Randy of Tulsa, OK and Carol Patterson and her husband Bryan of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Bill, Christian and Julie Jones of Tulsa, Nicole Forrester of Tulsa, Angelyn Rogers and Shane Patterson both of Fort Smith; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Forrester of Tulsa and Vann Rogers of Fort Smith; several nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Bryan Patterson, Billy Jones, Christian Jones, David Forrester, Shane Patterson and Kenneth Massey. Reverend Ken Overturf will conduct the service.
